St Kilda West is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 5 km south from Melbourne's central business district. Its Local Government Area is the City of Port Phillip. As of 2006 Census the population has 3,075 people.

It is bounded in the west by Port Phillip Bay, in the north by Fraser Street, in the east by the railway line, and in the south by a line generally along West Beach Road, a block north of Fitzroy Street.

St Kilda West Post Office opened around March 1879 (from 1886 until 1970 it was known as St Kilda Railway Station office).[2]
